It’s a New Year!
This is something I only remember when someone shouts it at me as a form of greeting while walking the street or over the phone. It has never been a big deal. Yes. It’s not the first time I’m struggling with this.
2018 was… well, 2018.
Not much I can say there. It went by real fast. You can read how mine was over here.
It’s a New Year and I’m sure you’ve probably made a couple of resolutions. I’m not big on these either.
The year started with me deep in sleep.
It’s official, I am a member of the old people club.
I then proceeded to spend the first day of the year travelling back home with an awesome book in hand. It was just another day. The second day was all about chilling and spending time with the cats. I had missed them.
As much as I don’t really care for resolutions, there are a couple of things I plan to do this year.
More Blog Writing
Have you noticed I’ve been putting in a lot more effort of late?
Despite having a lot of other things happening, I decided that writing more for this blog as well as the food blog, will be high on my priority list.
Since making that decision, I find myself curving time out off my day to plan my posts as well as write.
Remember my statement on time?
I have more time than I need to do all the things I want. I will work to make this happen at least 3 times a week.
If you promise to show up, we have a deal.
Scroll Less, Create More
I spend a lot of my time online. This is basically my office. I watch and read a lot of people I admire. As I was watching a video I while back, one of my fave creators mentioned that as a creator, I should be creating more than I consume. That is where this came from.
I have decided to create a lot more this year on all fronts. The plan is simple. Create daily. So expect a lot more DIYs, videos, posts and recipes. We will have loads fun doing this. So I guess by extension, you’ll be creating a lot more too.
My meditation game has slacked off. Despite all the benefits, sometimes I would find myself making up excuses just so as not to meditate. But that is a thing of the past. Meditation is one of my daily routines this New Year. Don’t worry, I will tell you how amazing it turns out come the end of the year. We can do a check in come April.
This is the year for travelling the world. Nick and I have picked out destinations we want to vacation at. I don’t want to spill the beans here but I will share all about them of course. They will be many and crazy fun.
Our intention is to travel locally as much as possible as well as globe trot, because life is meant to be fun. Also, we can. Ha!
Just wait for the IG posts.
More Time With The Fam
Over the holidays, my small bro came to visit for a couple of days. Man, I hadn’t realized just how fast he was growing.
My plan is to spend more time with him and the family as a whole. I don’t see them as much as I used to and phone calls are just not the same. I look forward to more laughter and awkward moments with my dad. That’s always fun. After I get back home of course.
This place has been fun, but it’s time to move. We are not rushing it because this move is very important. Every thing has to be just right. The house I have in mind… wacha tu! And of course, I have to add Muthoni’s touch. Add that sauce as well as some good good.
I will share what I can once I am ready to but for now, just enjoy the fact that we are about to decorate more.
Watch Less, Read More
I had taken a break from reading (fiction) as I was taking several courses here and there. This year I have decided I will read more and watch less TV. Not that I watch a lot of TV -well maybe I do -if working with the TV playing in the background counts- but I have decided to cut that down even further and read more. I have been doing two books a week and it has been great.
I intend to keep that momentum going and then just add in all the blogs I am into as well as course work. That should be a good amount of reading. Right?
2018 Jeep Wrangler
This is that year.
All black 2018 Jeep Wrangler Sahara with a 2.5 inch lift, 35 inch alloy wheels and metallic purple accents. Leather seats of course and Saturdays Off-roading. That’s all I’ll say for now.
2019 is going to be a great year. I assure you. Don’t let yourself forget that, in case you do. Come back here, I know I will have a couple of reminders all over the blog.
Your thoughts hurt no one else but you.
