Spare Me

I am done!

I have heard that excuse a little too many times before,

I said, I have heard that excuse a little too many times before,

I have listened to you bicker, chatter non-stop

At how sorry you are,

How you didn’t mean to do it.

How you forgot or just been busy,

I’ve been lost in between.

For I have heard that excuse a little too many times before.

When you’d only talk to me when in need.

Well, they do say a friend in need is a friend in deed,

Indeed the only deed you did, was no deed at all.

So spare me,

Coz am done.

Done hoping, hoping for change that will never be.

I am Done!

You use beautiful words to lure me in.

Words  never cease to believe,

For I find relief in the word not the man.

Because every time you pick me up you drop me, let me fall.

So please, make me see that love is blind.

Make me feel that I am in pain.

And if I can’t,

Then spare me.

Coz I have heard that excuse that excuse a little too many times before.

I have fallen in love with you in more than one language.

I said it, you ignored.

I signed it, you said you weren’t deaf,

Body language made no sense.

I cried, shed.

I sighed, bled.

I died, then!

Yet I still stayed

Despite the fact that I have heard that excuse a little too many times before.

Wanting me so sing along each of your tunes.

Turning me into her with each passing day.

How she doesn’t mind!

When she get’s down low, she doesn’t mind.

When you’d like to break her jaw, she doesn’t mind.

When you’d like to deliver a blow, she doesn’t mind.

When you’d like to hit her some more, she doesn’t mind.

So spare me.

For I have heard that excuse a little too many times before.

The memories are vivid,

I will not be reduced to what she was.

I will matter!

Stand up to you.

For I have heard that excuse a little too many times before,

It’s time I stopped.

I refuse to end up like her,

I won’t be shattered,

I won’t stand up for that.

I pray she could have mattered,

Then I’d still have a mother.
